Natural Marine World Heritage
in the Arctic Ocean
On April 4 during Monaco Ocean Week, in the presence

of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Fanny Douvere (UNESCO),
Carl Gustaf Lundin (IUCN) and Lisa Speer (NRDC)
unveiled the results of the “Natural Marine World
Heritage in the Arctic Ocean” report. This work
of extensive research and analysis has identified
seven sites in the Arctic region as holding exceptional
universal value and therefore potentially
qualifying for World Heritage status.
