DOCUMENTARY SCREENING: VAMIZI, CRADLE OF CORAL
(03/31/17 - Oceanographic Museum)
On 31 March 2017, Mattias Klum’s documentary screening, “Vamizi, Cradle of Coral”, drew crowds to the Monaco Oceanographic
Museum. A host of personalities also attended, including HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Queen Noor of Jordan and renowned
American biologist, Sylvia Earle. The island and its waters are home to biodiversity hotspots with 180 coral and 300 fish species.
Most of the marine ecosystem is protected and is vital to local communities who depend on it for food and, more recently, tourism.

(04/03/17- Stars‘N’Bars)
A workshop on how to deal with stranded cetaceans was organised on 3 April in Stars’N’Bars. The general public learned what to do and
who to contact in the event of cetacean stranding during a presentation on the main causes of cetacean stranding and the reconstruction
of a stranded cetacean scene. The workshop was jointly organised by the Pelagos Agreement for the creation of a marine mammal
sanctuary and the Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans in the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and the Contiguous Atlantic Area
(ACCOBAMS) and in partnership with Port-Cros National Park and SOS Grand Bleu.
